i) And what if I did just stand here,
stood in the middle of
a death trap - what then?
ii) I should punch someone in the face.
I don't care who, just someone
to know that I'm really no pushover
iii) Why do we only have five fingers?
Logically six or seven would
be more useful?
iv) How does it make sense
that blandness is readily accepted?
Is it because someone who thrives on
dynamics is more difficult to deal with?
Is it to spite me?
v) Why do some friends require so
much effort? Shouldn't friends
be effortless to maintain?
vi) Maybe magic is real but
we just don't know what the
spells are.
vii) You know, if we were still
hunter gatherers then I
would totally be dead.

Skin
We crawl out of our skin
just to get under
each other’s,
and once we’re
deep beneath one
another’s epidermis
we just lash at
the windows,
throw ourselves against
the walls,
we beat at the doors.
We rip each other
apart from the
inside out.
I think you know
that I’ve always
worn your skin,
always had your face
laid perfectly on top
of mine.
Good thing I’ve always
had your bones, too,
always felt your aches
and pains.
I own so much of you,
no wonder I’m always
trying to change.
I wonder what
you have left
of yourself?
A handful of
fingernails,
some locks of hair,
your attitude.
In my mind’s eye

Celestial
The stars are within us;
Their light still glowing brightly -
in the interconnections
of the elements they've birthed.
I smile playfully and say,
I can hopscotch from our Earth -
onto the neighboring moons of other planets;
Their weightless bodies -
dipping beneath my feet.
One day, we'll leave this solar system -
Once the spark of our sun burns out.
And we'll make the long journey,
beyond the Milky Way Galaxy -
before Andromeda's appetite,
Engulfs it whole.
Then we'll dance in the -
vacuum of space;
Floating and spinning with ease.
The eyes of the stars, sparkling,
in delight at our antics.
And I would chuckle and say,
