Tokei's Crush

It wasn't something tangible, not something that Tokei could put his finger on, but something more than just metaphysical. Maybe it was the way that Judas blinked every now and then, fluttered his eyelashes in the light (ever dwindling). Perhaps it was the way that the boy would deliberately lower his tones around certain people, as if to imply some unwelcome resonance, some incessant and nagging fear of vulnerability lingering in his mind, or the half-absent glares towards half forgotten girls in the hallways. Tokei didn't have the story, he couldn't read minds; he was intrigued, obsessed with knowledge. He wanted to know the other boy's everything, and that lust was absorbing his unity in a single fell swoop.

Tokei's stigma buzzed slightly as he glared at the Sun, blazing in its self righteous majesty however many miles away it was. The Sriachol floated slowly away in the distance, pulsing along its invisible stream. He sighed, humming to himself as he fell backwards on to the wet grass, his robes acting like a blanket in the cold midday. How was he so indefinitely engrossed in this stranger, an Alman of all people? How was he so... Insipid with his calculations, so perplexed by a statistic? Most importantly, hummed the Mana that sparked and whistled in the centre of his being, how was this to affect the future? How was this 'crush', for lack of a better expression, going to hinder his Utopia?
