Sometimes we fall in love with people
We aren't supposed to like,
So to sit here letting feelings rot,
Not acting on a stupid crush,
Well I guess, that's just another form
That love can take.
Letting things such as ethics and values
Get in your way, when love is a game
Meant for two (or more).
You'd rather having a blinding hot white
Love that fizzles out,
But I guess, that's just another form
That love can take.
Reality wants my life to be gone
In just a flash; so I tap my words
Away into a keyboard or a lukewarm screen;
'I'm sorry' and 'I love you' bears only so much weight,
But I guess, that's just another form
That love can take.
Being hurt or stabbed or hit or bruised
By Husband, Wife, Mother, Father,
Spending half your life hidden,
Crawling in the gutter.
'You should really get away' but no,
They still need me.
Well I guess, that's just another form
That love can take.
Working to the bone to help your family prosper,
Only to come home to fighting and broken glass.
Putting all the hours in to end up with divorce,
Well I guess, that's just another form
That love can take.
Thrown away in the city streets,
No love, no kids, no conversation,
Nothing but a Job and a studio apartment?
A sad life, sure, but one that many just must fake;
But I guess that's just another form
That love might take.
Overcoming hardships one by one by their side,
Living till your wrinkles fold and bones subside,
Whispering 'I love you' even when you're nearly dead,
Well I love that that's
The final form that love may take.

just,
What was she?

Lungs
Maybe if
our lungs
exhaled money
instead of
carbon dioxide,
we'd value
life
a little more
(or maybe we'd just go broke).

Stellar Analogy
Stars fall the way we do:
They don't just decide one day to fall
It simply occurs; quintessentially or infinitesimally
The difference between us and stars:
We can rise

the repetition in the last lines of each stanza tie the central theme in well and weave everything together nicely
